About Associate Conductor Cecilia Hamilton
Ms. Hamilton has performed in master classes with Harvey Solberger, Claudy Arimani, Thomas Robertello, Angelita Floyd, and Llars Nielson. She was a soloist at the 2001 Southeastern Composers' League Conference, a 2002 winner of the AMFC solo competition, and she also performed at the 2003 LaTex Electroacoustic Music Conference. She has also performed at GAMMA-UT music festival in Austin, Texas, and as a soloist with the UNT Baroque Orchestra. As a part of the UNT Baroque orchestra, she has worked in collaboration with the Dallas Bach Society. In addition to her involvement with Baroque flute and early music, Ms. Hamilton is an enthusiastic supporter and performer of new music and has premiered numerous compositions. Ms. Hamilton currently performs with Aria Trio, Tin Roof Tango, Flower Mound Symphony, Metropolitan Winds, and Sherman Symphony. Her commitment to musical excellence also extends to flute pedagogy and conducting. She conducted the Fayette Middle School Band and the Alabama Community Music School Flute Choir. Her students have won numerous awards and scholarships and held top positions in various ensembles at both the local and state level. Ms. Hamilton currently teaches flute at Austin College, maintains a private studio in the Dallas area and she has conducted the Progressive Orchestra for Flower Mound Community Orchestras since 2007..
